All the effluent passes through a fine parabolic screen to separate solid particles, then enters an averaging tank (to equalize temp, COD and pH). The averaged effluent passes through a pipe flocculator for the addition of: coagulant, sodium base and flocculant.

The resulting mixture is fed to an aerated grease trap - flotator /DAF/ where it is separated into two phases.

The liquid phase is sent to the ECSB reactor for anaerobic treatment and the fat is transported to the CSTR /SWD/.
